Although the news headlines about the recession and unemployment figures have decreased recently, there are still thousands of people struggling through unemployment and searching endlessly for a job. I have some career advice for the disheartened amongst you. Firstly, don’t give up. You are bound to receive many rejections and fail to be called to interview for the majority of jobs you apply for, but you are not the only one in your situation. If you give up, you may let someone else snap up that ideal job – just because you didn’t see the point of sending your CV. Secondly, keep busy. You will be spending the majority of your time job hunting but join forums and groups in your industry and get out and meet people, you may just meet your next employer.
