Most people, when they think of gift cards, think of retail stores or major chains that issue them to customers who then give them to friends or family members as presents.  But this is not always the case.  Many corporations are seeing the value of using them as promotional tools and giveaways that can be used to promote a certain product or service.  One particular instance comes to mind where a golf course had several custom gift card packaging holders printed with their company logo and pictures of the courses.  Inside a card was inserted that could be redeemed for a round of golf.  These were given away at a fund raiser.  This was great promotion for both he fund raiser and the golf course.
