There can be negative as well as positive after effects of the use of chemicals. The publication of the book The Silent Spring in 1962 by Rachel Carson changed the mindset of many people. The thereat to the environment was realized. There were many environmental protection legislations in the 1970s. The legislations and acts passed needed Environmental Risk Assessment.
