Training Survey Has Implications For Injection Molding Training
February 27th, 2008 . by adminAccording to the American Management Association, more and more companies are moving towards computer-based training as their preferred training method. In the plastics industry, and in injection molding in particular, injection molding training has been tending towards computer-based training for several years. The reasons for this trend are many, however a few of the top reasons are that employees can work at their own pace, they get to take the training at the company’s location, the cost of the training is cheaper because there is no travel involved, and the training is overall more efficient because employees get to apply what they have learned immediately on the production floor instead of waiting to get back to the plant.
Computer-based training seems to work very well in manufacturing environments where traditionally employed training has been thought of as a necessary evil. But every company was almost required to give some sort of basic training to their employees so that they could perform their jobs, many of them did this training in a very haphazard way. By instituting computer-based training, the company knows that they’re using a proven training system and that the same training is being given to everyone. They also able to document the training for iso-9000 purposes.
