My grandmother ended up staying in her house after my grandfather died. At first, she was pretty spry so we didn’t worry too much about her.  But after a while, she became more and more frail and started having difficulties getting up and down the stairs.  Further, we’d catch her doing things she shouldn’t be doing on her own like shoveling the front walk or carrying things down the basement steps.  A Medical Alert Necklace was the perfect gift for her one birthday because this way we didn’t have to worry about her anymore.  If she fell, she would have the necklace on and be able to press a button for emergency help.
