When I’m out camping I think of it as being something that is all about being more environmentally friendly and closer to nature.   While for the most part I really enjoy being closer to nature, there is one part of nature that I’d prefer to stay far far away from.  No, not bears – mosquitoes.  However, I think that the ways we use to keep mosquitoes away from us are certainly not environmentally friendly.  For example, most of us are happy to spray down our bodies with nasty smelling deeps woods off or something similar.  Since I try to be somewhat environmentally conscious when I’m out camping, I prefer to make my own natural mosquito repellent instead of opting for the bad for the environment and bad for my body sprays.
